About this tool

Conversions assume your hours per week and paid weeks per year (52 by default; use fewer if you are unpaid during holidays, as freelancers often are). A day is taken as one-fifth of a working week (hours ÷ 5 for a 5-day week).

Amounts are before tax and deductions. In the UAE there is no personal income tax on salaries, but other countries' take-home pay can be much lower than the gross figure.

Good to know

  • Gross pay only; taxes, allowances and benefits are not included.
  • Assumes a 5-day working week for daily rates.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert an hourly rate to a yearly salary?

Multiply by hours per week and weeks per year. 20 per hour × 40 × 52 = 41,600 per year.

How do I compare a monthly salary to a day rate?

Enter the monthly salary and read the daily figure, then compare it with the day rate.

Why use fewer than 52 weeks?

If you are not paid for holidays or gaps between contracts, use the number of weeks you actually earn.
