How to use it

  1. Type one or two letters and pick colours, or upload your logo.

  2. Check the previews at real sizes.

  3. Download the ZIP, upload the files to your site root, and paste the HTML.

About this tool

The ZIP contains everything modern browsers and phones look for: favicon.ico (16, 32 and 48 px inside one file, for older browsers and Windows), 16 and 32 px PNGs, a 180 px apple-touch-icon.png for iPhone home screens, 192 and 512 px Android icons, and a site.webmanifest. Upload them to the root folder of your website and paste the HTML into the <head> of your pages.

Favicons are tiny, so simple shapes and one or two bold letters work better than detailed logos.

Good to know

  • Non-square images are cropped to the centre.
  • The manifest name fields are left empty for you to fill in.

Frequently asked questions

What size should a favicon be?

Provide several: 16 and 32 px for tabs, 48 px in favicon.ico, 180 px for Apple devices and 192/512 px for Android. This tool creates all of them.

Where do I put favicon.ico?

In the root folder of your website (for example public_html), so it is available at yoursite.com/favicon.ico.

Why does my old favicon still show?

Browsers cache favicons aggressively. Open the page in a private window, or wait a day.
